Chancellor Merkel and President Chirac stress that the Airbus concept is founded on the partnership principle, which must of course also be at the basis of the company's efforts to adapt.
At a time when, in the next few days, Airbus is expected to take measures to bolster its competitiveness, Chancellor Merkel and President Chirac give it their full support and declare that they will be keeping a watchful eye on developments in terms of jobs, technology and skills in all the relevant countries.
Chancellor Merkel and President Chirac forcefully emphasize the importance they both attach to sharing efforts fairly with a view to their future joint success.
They reaffirm their confidence in the decisions of the company's management, which are the guarantee of balance./.
