Letter of condolence from M. Jacques CHIRAC, President of the Republic, to Mr Fouad SINIORA, Lebanese Prime Minister, following the terrorist attacks in Bikfaya.

Prime Minister,
This morning's dreadful bomb attacks in Bikfaya are horrific and appalling. I utterly condemn them.
On this day of mourning for the Lebanese people, I extend to you my heartfelt condolences and ask you to convey my solidarity to the families dealt such a cruel blow.
By striking the day before the commemoration of the attack which cost Mr Rafiq Hariri and his companions their lives, the murderers want to plunge the whole of Lebanon back into violence.
I am sure Lebanon will be able to avoid this trap and commemorate this very sad anniversary with dignity and in unity.
