The Sea Shell Thatched Cottage
Built on an island in the heart of the English Garden this "Folly" by architect Goupy was constructed for the Princess of Lamballe by her brother in law, the Duke of Penthièvre. Reminiscent of a thatched cottage from the outside, the house contains many treasures. The first lounge with pilasters, niches, vaults and garlands is entirely covered in nacre, marble and shells, mirroring their gleam in silvery, white and black tones.
