Message from M. Jacques CHIRAC, President of the Republic, to his Excellency Mr Olusegun OBASANJO, President of Nigeria, following the oil pipeline explosion.

President Obasanjo,
I was deeply shocked to learn of the heavy death toll of the disaster which occurred near Lagos on 12 May when an oil pipeline exploded.
In these painful circumstances, I want to extend to you my most sincere condolences and ask you kindly to convey to the families of the many victims my heartfelt sympathy and the solidarity of the French people in this ordeal.
