Letter of condolence from M. Jacques CHIRAC, President of the Republic, to Mr Susilo Bambang YUDHOYONO, President of Indonesia, following the tsunami

President Yudhoyono,

I was deeply shocked to learn of the tragic consequences of the tsunami which struck Java.

In these painful circumstances, I want to assure you of France's solidarity. I also express to you my sincere condolences and ask you to convey them, with my heartfelt sympathy, to the bereaved.
