Iraq - Communiqué issued by the Presidency of the Republic following the murder of two Algerian diplomats.

President Chirac is appalled by the murder of two Algerian diplomats by their kidnappers in Iraq. He expresses his solidarity with Algeria and extends his most sincere condolences to the President of the Algerian Republic and the bereaved. He issues an appeal for the release of all the hostages and the cessation of this barbaric practice which demeans those who indulge in it./.
