Communique issued by the Presidency of the Republic following the bombings in Egypt.
Paris, 24 April 2006
President Chirac is appalled by the bloody bombings which have hit Egypt. He most categorically condemns these heinous terrorist acts.
In these tragic circumstances, he extends his most sincere and most heartfelt condolences to the bereaved who have been dealt such a cruel blow and to the Egyptian people.
He expresses to President Mubarak the solidarity of France, who stands at Egypt's side in her battle against terrorism./.
